I'm thinking this is as good a place as any to post the link to a very handy font-related website.
www.whatthefont.com

Its a font identifier. You upload an image containing, say, a word in a font you like (taken from a website etc), identify the characters in the image and it'll either tell you what font was used, or it'll give you a selection of similar one's.
