Hi everyone,

My recent Spybot Search & Destroy scans have detected the above trojan. Despite deleting it, it reappears on the next scan.

I understand it is particularly difficult to eradicate this trojan. Does anyone have a solution to this problem please?

What kind of Anti virus software are you running as Spybot tends to be more for spyware and nuisance files.

Thanks for your reply. I always used to use AVG. Then I read many reports recommending NOD32 so I changed to that. However, yesterday I read that NOD32 does not pick up on new viruses as quickly as AVG - so yesterday I uninstalled NOD32 and re-installed my AVG. I also have Adaware and, SuperAntiSpyware software running and I have re-installed ZoneAlarm firewall in preference to the Windows firewall.

I have been told that as I use a Router I should be protected from Hackers, who pick up on messages transmitted by this trojan. Do you know if this is the case?

I think you might better off if you buy yourself a copy of Norton internet security it picks anything out like that and destorys it plus it has an inbuilt advaced firewall to protect from hackers.

i have been using it for 7 years if that helps

Many thanks for your advice. Think you're right about the Norton. I just hope it is able to permanently remove the trojan. Spybot detects it but after I click on remove it still keeps reappearing on my next scan.

Many thanks for all your replies. I put the PC into safe mode, ran the Spybot scan but it didn't pick the trojan up (despite having done so numerous time prior to that).

Ran an AVG scan - found 5 items (none with the above named trojan). Deleted those. Have since run a number of Spybot/AVG scans and nothing has been detected.

Could it be that one of the items located in AVG was the Win32.Poison.k trojan with a different name?

Many thanks
