I want to turn my tower cpu (with cd slot) on its side so that it will fit into a horizontal workspace that does not accommodate the height of the tower. Will turning it on its side cause any operating problems for the cpu or cd rom?

you will have no problems at all with that just ensure that you dont do it whilst it is switched on and i see no reaspn that you would get any problems, make sure obiously that the computer has enough breathing space at the back and front
