Disney has announced a new video game studio that will make games for the Nintendo DS handheld and the upcoming Nintendo Wii game console. The studio will develop titles based on current and future Disney movies and characters.

The studio will be headed by Scott Novis, formerly from Rainbow Studios that made the Disney/Pixar Cars game. Disney has made video games for several years under its Buena Vista game unit. There is no word what the first game will be or when it will be released.

Yeah, but as everyone knows, games that are made off of things like that are just in it for the money. So they don't really put that much effort into the devolpment into actually making a truely fun game, and it just becomes lost in all the hundreds of so-so games.

Not really , this sounds as if disney are making a committment to making games , therefore we could see some descent games coming from them.
Remember these games are being made for nintendo , who's consumer fan base are younger than the other consoles.
This could be a good move for disney and nintendo , very good partnership.

They would be better off creating original titles instead of just movie games.
