I don’t know whether you were being sarcastic in the last part of your message, the chances are in that case is it has knocked your powersupply out as I said, either that or it has sent a surge round the motherboard which can also happen and knocked other components out. It will be a process of elimination till you can find out what is damaged, what isn’t etc

no worries. The computer is still under warranty so I am going to send it back for repairs. Even though the warranty doesn't cover carriage costs and they want £40 for collection and re-delivery! *shakes fist*
